A Spanish doctor will be tried in Sweden for sexual assault and aggravated rape in the line of duty on 52 children. The children were aged between two and 12, according to the prosecutor’s office in Stockholm.
The 29-year-old man is also accused of abusing 18 adults and holding child pornography.
The court has classified rape with aggravating assault for four underage patients because of his authority and the very young age of the children.
Imprisoned since December, he faces up to 14 years in prison.
The alleged events occurred between 2015 and 2017 in several medical centers in the Scandinavian country, as well as through an internet consultation service, according to the indictment obtained by Valley Post Express.
During consultations for often innocuous ailments, he convinced the parents of the young victims to examine their genitals himself, or asked them to do so for him during the consultations at a distance. He filmed the examinations several times.
